A Facebook video may appear inside a personal post, Page post, Reel or Watch page. The URL needs to identify the individual video and the post must be publicly viewable.
Find the direct public video page
Open the video, use its timestamp or share control to reach the individual item, then copy the complete browser URL. Paste it into the Facebook video downloader. A general profile, Group home or news-feed URL does not identify one media file.
Run a quick privacy test
Open the copied link in a private browsing window where you are not signed in. If Facebook asks for membership, friendship or account authorization before showing the video, the item is not publicly accessible to the downloader. Public Page videos are generally easier to identify than media in private Groups.
What the result can show
Available resolutions depend on the uploaded source and what the provider returns. Compare quality and estimated file size. An older or highly compressed Facebook upload may not include an HD choice even if it looks acceptable in the app.
If no result appears, remove tracking parameters, confirm the video still exists and copy its individual URL again. Never attempt to bypass privacy controls, and download only media you own or are authorized to use.
